กลวิธีทางภาษาที่ใช้ในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันของคู่สนทนาที่มีสถานภาพและความสนิทต่างกันในภาษาไทย

บทคัดย่อ

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อต้องการศึกษากลวิธีทางภาษาที่ผู้พูดภาษาไทยใช้ในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันและพิจารณาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกลวิธีทางภาษาดังกล่าวกับปัจจัยเรื่องสถานภาพและความสนิทของคู่สนทนาผู้วิจัยเก็บข้อมูลจากแบบสอบถามแบบเติมเต็มบทสนทนาชนิดให้เขียนตอบ (Written Discourse Completion Task ; WDCT) โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้พูดภาษาไทยที่ใช้ในงานวิจัยมีจำนวน ๔๐๐ คน แบ่งเป็นเพศชาย ๒๐๐ คน และเพศหญิง ๒๐๐ คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้พูดภาษาไทยเลือกใช้กลวิธีทางภาษาในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันแบบประชดประชันจำนวนทั้งสิ้น ๔๔ กลวิธี เรียงลำดับความถี่จากมากไปหาน้อยได้ดังนี้ ๑. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบรักษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคู่สนทนา ๒. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบประชดประชัน ๓. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบหยอกล้อหรือสร้างอารมณ์ขัน และ ๔. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบทำให้เกิดความขัดแย้งในการสนทนา ส่วนกลวิธีทางภาษาที่กลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้พูดภาษาไทยใช้ในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันแบบหยอกล้อพบจำนวนทั้งสิ้น ๔ กลวิธี เรียงลำดับความถี่จากมากไปหาน้อยได้ดังนี้ ๑. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบรักษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคู่สนทนา ๒. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบหยอกล้อหรือสร้าง อารมณ์ขัน ๓. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบประชดประชัน และ ๔. กลวิธีทางภาษาแบบทำให้เกิดความขัดแย้งในการสนทนาผลการวิจัยเรื่องความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกลวิธีทางภาษาที่ใช้ในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันกับปัจจัยเรื่องสถานภาพและความสนิทของคู่สนทนาพบว่าปัจจัยเรื่องสถานภาพและความสนิทของคู่สนทนามีผลต่อการเลือกใช้กลวิธีทางภาษาในการตอบถ้อยคำนัยผกผันแบบประชดประชันและถ้อยคำนัยผกผันแบบหยอกล้อของผู้พูดภาษาไทยดังจะเห็นได้จากค่า p ของกลวิธีทางภาษาทั้งหมดต่ำกว่าระดับนัยสำคัญที่ ๐.๐๕๐(P<0.050)

Linguistic strategies used for responding to verbal irony of different social status and intimacy interlocutors in Thai

Abstract

This research had the primary objectives to study the strategies of responding to verbal irony in Thai and to analyze the relationship between responding strategies and factors concerning the social status and intimacy of interlocutors. Data used in this research were elicited from a sample of 400 respondents, of which 200 were male and 200 were female. The respondents
were asked to complete the Written Discourse Completion Task.
According to the results, the responding strategy to sarcastic verbal irony can be divided into four groups, ranked in order of frequency: 1) keeping relationship of interlocutor linguistic strategies; 2) sarcastic linguistic strategies; 3) humorous linguistic strategies and; 4) conflict linguistic strategies. The responding strategy to humorous verbal irony can be classified into four groups, ranked in order of frequency: 1) keeping relationship of interlocutor inguistic strategies; 2) humorous linguistic strategies; 3) sarcastic linguistic strategies; and 4) conflict linguistic strategies. Upon consideration of the relationship between the responding strategies and factors concerning the social status and intimacy of interlocutors, it is evident that factors concerning the social status and intimacy of interlocutors have an on the adoption of the responding strategies.
There were statistically significant differences in the responding strategies at a p-value of less than 0.050.
